Scott Quinn

     Tenor Scott Quinn is a native Texan, born in Marshall and currently residing in Tyler. In 2004 Scott graduated with a vocal performance degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.  At SFA, Quinn has performed the roles of Tamino in Die Zauberflote, and Nemorino in L'elisir d'Amore. Scott has also performed the roles of Frederic in Pirates of Penzance and Martin in The Tender Land with The Living Opera, where he was awarded the Shelia Harms Memorial Fellowship. His concert stage credits include Verdi’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Schubert's Mass in C, Mozart’s Requiem and Handel's Messiah. While at SFA, Quinn won several awards and competitions such as vocal recitalist of the year, concerto competition winner, and the Grady Harlan Award winner at the annual NATS competition. In January 2007, Quinn won the Shreveport Opera Singer of the Year Competition, winning the Charles Maggio award, making way for his debut performance with the Shreveport Opera as Anthony Hope in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd. In February 2008, Scott will make his debut with The Dallas Opera as the Third Jew in Strauss’ Salome.
