Dan Gettinger returns to conduct Shreveport Opera’s “Sweeney Todd” bringing us to our feet in both "My Fair Lady" and “Carousel.”
Mr. Gettinger casts and produces American Music Revue concerts throughout the country and namely, at Walt Disney World. His excellence at the piano and arrangements of well known and undiscovered treasures of the American repertoire have elevated to the professional mainstages of Epcot in Orlando, for performances at the Garden Theatre.
Mr. Gettinger is currently on the faculty at Manhattan School of Music, where he is the director of the American Musical Theater Ensemble, and a musical theater coach. For several years he has also served on the faculties of The Hartt School in Hartford, Connecticut, as well as the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel. Mr. Gettinger was the assistant conductor of the first National Touring Company of "No, No, Nanette" starring June Allyson, as well as "A Little Night Music" starring Patrice Munsel.
As a pianist, he has played recitals for Florence Quivar, Marvis Martin, and Heidi Grant Murphy, in addition to working as a staff pianist for both Florida Grand Opera and Santa Fe Opera companies.
Dan has accompanied many singers, including David Hasselhoff and Polly Bergen, for television appearances, and also co-produced and performed in "A Broadway Celebration", a concert tour for Columbia Artists Management.
